1. Making the Right Decisions
Our mission is to help our clients to make better informed decisions for a sustainable future.
We do this by helping you to involve the right people in the right ways whatever you are striving to achieve.
2. Driven by Core Beliefs and Principles
Creating positive change for a sustainable future requires thinking long-term and the balancing of
environmental, social, economic and organisational needs. This is not always easy but by putting the environment at the heart of decisions and people at the heart of decision making, we have helped
our clients to make good progress. This is our passion.
3. Our Approach: Top Teams
R4C puts together a bespoke team of skilled and experienced consultants to meet your needs. A culture of sharing and learning adds value beyond technical expertise. We work with our clients and not simply for them. We welcome our clients into our team and work hard to listen to their needs and constraints. We don’t arrive with pre-conceived ideas or adopt a formulaic approach to leadership.
4. Our Approach: Practical & Participatory
A creative attitude to involving people allows us to engage effectively with a wide variety of audiences; senior government executives and local government officials, the staff and boards of Third Sector Organisations, grassroots communities and individuals.
We are able to draw on a wide range of practical tools and techniques to ensure we hear and understand their views.
5. Principles in Action
Contracts we work on tend to involve facilitation, engagement and consultation in the areas of project management, research and funding. We work with people such as community representatives, managers and strategy/policy experts.
We are an inherently inquisitive bunch and use our talents to keep asking the obvious and not so obvious questions to get to the bottom of the critical issues and build up the best solutions. For example, our creative approach to stakeholder mapping regularly surprises clients.
6. A Different Approach AND Areas of Expertise
As the petals in our diagram suggest, we have successfully applied our approach to achieve positive change in a range of sectors under the broad label of sustainable development. This has allowed Resources for Change to build up significant expertise in a variety of areas:
- Managing Natural Resources
- M&E
- Social inclusion
- Community and Development
- Learning & Behavioural Change
- Grants & Funding
- Regeneration & Development
- Forward Planning
- Economy & Business
7. Linking the Levels
One of the things many of our clients appreciate about us is our ability to cross lines and work effectively at different levels; engaging local people, supporting managers as well as advising strategists and even policy makers. Understanding the people, their views, needs and issues at each level and how they interact or link together is the key to achieving really effective, difference making action.
8. Perfectly Formed: not too BIG…. and not too small.
Our core speciality is working with people unlike large national firms of consultants, where technical staff are often supplemented by ‘stakeholder specialists’. We guarantee that you will get the person agreed in our proposal doing the work and not a junior researcher drafted in. In other words, what you see is what you get. Unlike the freelancer or sole operator, R4C employs a team of experienced consultants. This gives us flexibility and capacity. We pride ourselves on taking the time to learn from our work and share good practice and ideas. This enables our team to grow and you to benefit from a wide range of experience.
9. High Quality Delivery
For the past 11 years we have worked for a wide range of not-for-profit clients, voluntary and statutory, as well as the private sector. We have successfully delivered over 600 contracts. We understand your need for quality, useful work to be delivered ON TIME and we will go the extra mile to achieve that. We keep you closely in touch with progress on your project and take a flexible approach to make sure that we deliver practical solutions to your needs.
10. Not Too FUN!
Sure it helps to be a little bit off-beat to work for our busy team but it’s great fun. What binds us together is a conviction that what we are doing is important for all our futures. We are friendly bunch with strong links to the third sector where many of us volunteer as trustees, advisors or committee members.
