R4C was commissioned by the East of England Regional Empowerment Partnership (REP) to evaluate its work during 2009/10. The REP staff and steering group wanted to reflect on what had been achieved during the year, and to draw out the learning to help them plan for 2010/11.
Irene and Helen gathered feedback from a wide variety of stakeholders, including REP staff, steering group members, people who had attended events and activities, and representatives of organisations that the REP has worked with.
The evaluation showed that the REP’s work had had positive benefits for people who had taken part in activities, and through this contributed to the quality of empowerment activity in the eastern region. Three key recommendations (and several others!) were made to the REP, focusing on the best direction for 2010/11. The REP is now beginning to put these recommendations into action.
R4C will continue to work with the REP to evaluate their work during 2010/11, focussing on learning about its impact.
