We help local projects actually happen! We help get people involved, design how to work and even help run local projects when appropriate. We also use the knowledge we gain through doing this to inform and advise national organisations. We could be standing on supermarket forecourts, walking in villages discussing issues, or sitting in policy meetings in London or Cardiff.

Working with local people is critical to what we do and the ethos of how we work. We have always worked hard to ensure all our work, even on policy, is rooted firmly in the day to day reality of people’s lives. Consequently, we have supported national aspects of community planning and engagement design because of our experience in supporting so many community level projects; including initiatives such as Vital Villages, Market Towns and current programmes like Neighbourhood Planning and Big Local.

We have also supported lots of local community-led projects where people have been able to improve the local area with support from HLF, Big Lottery Fund and other funders.
